Emlyn Nardone graduated from the University of Aberdeen with an MA (Hons) in Political Economy and Politics in 2000. The subject of his thesis was U.S Hegemony and Globalisation. He then completed an MA in International Relations at the Brussels School of International Studies (BSIS), which is an amalgam of the Université Libre des Bruxelles (ULB), Vrije Universitat Brusel (VUB) and the University of Kent at Cantebury (UKC) in 2002. His masters thesis was based on the tensions that exist between the globalisation of culture and economic globalisation under the supervision of Dr. Jarrod Wiener. He was then awarded a fellowship from the faculty of commerce and started his doctorate at the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2003 under the supervision of Dr. Terrence McDonough within the department of economics. The subject matter of his thesis is conceptualising and understanding the links between long wave growth cycles and transnational class formation. In 2005, Emlyn joined CISC and his doctoral work was incorporated into a project funded by the Irish research council for the humanities and social sciences (IRCHSS). As part of this project Emlyn is currently working on concepts relating to transnational classes, global governance and long wave growth theories through a social structure of accumulation (SSA) framework.
Emlyn also teaches micro and macro economics and teaches political economy as part of the MA in Culture and Colonialism.
