Edel Walshe completed a Master of Business Studies in marketing at NUI, Galway in September 2001 which involved the submission of a minor dissertation examining the opportunities for electronic service delivery. This was preceded by the award of a B.Comm degree, specialising in marketing and human resource management, also at NUI, Galway. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. exploring the role of trust in inter-firm R&D collaborations in the Irish software and medical device sectors and participating in the Knowledge Intensive Services Activities (KISA) project which is an initiative of the OECD working party on innovation and technology policy and involves cross-country research in different sectors.
