Research interests: Corporate Responsibility, Civil Society, Social Structures of Accumulation, Value Chain Analysis, Research Activism

Maria-Alejandra Gonzalez-Perez is pursing a PhD in the Faculty of Commerce in NUIG analysing Global Labour Relations, and Corporate Social Responsibility in the banana industry under the supervision of Dr. Terrence McDonough. Maria-Alejandra completed a Master of Business Studies in Industrial Relations and Human Resources by research in September 2003; her MBS dissertation was titled Actions and Strategies undertaken by trade unions and employers to integrate immigrant workers in Ireland: a comparison with the United States. Her first degree is in Psychology, and she was trained as a Clinical Psychologist in Colombia.
