John Purcell is Professor of Human Resource Management at the University of Bath. He was an Oxford University Lecturer in Industrial Relations and Fellow in Human Resource Management at Templeton College between 1981 and 1995. His main publications are in the area of corporate and business strategies and their connection with human resource management. His research covers a variety of areas such as the management of change, organisational performance, core and periphery employment patterns and lean methods of working.
